Yes, Motown was a record label, but the name is used in the industry
to describe a very distinctive style of music performed by the Motown
artists.

You are in entitled to your opinion about Rock-n-Roll.  It does not,
however, match either general consensus or obviously, the Hall of Fame
standards.
