I have seen crazier things in some of the patent suits.  It just boils down
to software patents are plain stupid and not what they had in mind when it
came to IP protection or patenting.  It is really being abused as a tool to
stifle progress and competition.  It's like the death throes of a dying
company trying to scrape every last penny from the pot.

I am not sure that interesting is the right word. That's one of the best
arguments I've ever seen for patent reform, and I'm including the ridiculous
Blackboard patent in that statement.

I mean... calendaring reminders? Someone let a corporation patent that?

never do I can cling to the hope that the details are a hell of a lot more
