Being privy to the behind the scenes goings on when my hubby worked for one of the Big Box insurance companies, I am not surprised. In fact Progressive is partly responsible for the overall deterioration and downfall of employee moral at hubby's company because they brought in numerous ex-Progressive executives to set policies and do things more in line with the "Progressive way". It is also why he finally retired and got the heck out of dodge. His moral compass started going "no way in heck am I doing that!". Several other employees opted for early retirement, and others were simply fired. And these were long term, over 10-30 year employees with exemplary track records. I'm sorry - but insurance companies are evil and suck, and it sucks we need them at all. Such a Catch-22. All you can hope for is that you have a great experience whenever you have a claim. Woe be to the unusual ones though.
