Democracy is what allows non-Kosher restaurants to exist in Israel.
Democracy is what allows people to be elected to government even if they
support the destruction of Israel. Democracy is the will of the people, ALL
of the people, not just the majority. Its also the laws that were used to
found that democracy.
One such law is that religious functions such as marriages and burial are in
the hands of the religious councils (who are also elected).
