Gee I know but I have so little time to write a whole book :) -----Original Message----- From: Nick McClure [mailto:cf-lists@;king-nacho.com] Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 1:36 PM To: CF-Community Subject: RE: How free are we?
Well, Many people wanted to include a ban on slavery in the document, but what came to pass was that it was a states decision. Each state could determine if there would be slaves in its borders or not. There was the 3/5 Compromise, which detailed how the census would reflect slaves. You are trivializing this, they didn't come up with this overnight. > -----Original Message----- > From: Phoeun Pha [mailto:phoeunp@;entelligence.com] > Sent: Wednesday, October 23, 2002 2:24 PM > To: CF-Community > Subject: RE: How free are we? > > It makes me wonder how they tackled the slave issue.
