I don't actually fit all the way in it. It is just a pistachio shell. Really it just
leaves a tiny red stain on my butt. But it generates a lot of conversation (snickers
and nudges, really, but I take what I can get.) And I had to pay for it myself. Don't
be jealous.

That reminds me of a month I spent one week in San Antonio, Texas.

I was down there running a booth at a defense contractor convention (ICATT-VET, I
think).

I was in the booth at 4:30 AM setting up the carpet, walls, and the 15 networked
computers and simulators.

At about noon I noticed a loud banging from under a table against the back wall.

It turns out the BBN booth we backed up against had a couple of UNIX programmers in a
small room under the stage. They had been in there since the previous night, and I had
built our wall right up against their escape hatch.

(picture 4 chubby, shaggy bearded men in stained t-shirts and chinos and mismatched
socks climbing out a 24x24 inch door)

Their job was to run the entire "battlenet" for all the contractors, but I guess they
didn't want to be seen by the crowds (or BBN didn't wan t them seen).

I often check under my desk before settling in for the day just in case there is a
geek or two hiding under there.

Damn they gave you a shell?

I feel cheated.

I just thought it funny that _either_ could have been appropriate in that
sentence.
