Yeah...but there's a lot to be said for the testing procedure they put theirmachine through.
I built my own machine...but it is showing its age. Athlon 1.2Ghz mated to the wrong motherboard (KT133) and running at 999Mhz..512MB of PC133 RAM...and a Geforce 4400 128MB. But I messed up with the motherboard....and I caught my ass to get the big GeForce card to fit... I just generally didn't like having to slap in the CPU..got me very nervous because those 1.2 Ghz processors were expensive at the time.. I mean if I had the money I'd just prefer to buy a complete system...like an Alienware. You know? -Gel -----Original Message----- From: jon hall [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Let me take this chance to point out how expensive those systems are, and brag about my new system ;-) Alienware's Aurora DDR w/: Athlon 2800+ Enermax Powersupply ASUS NForce2 Deluxe 1GB Corsair PC2700 XMS WD 120GB 8MB Cache Generic GF4 Ti4600 They force you to buy a WinXP license... Comes to ~$2079 I just built that same exact thing but with the Abit NF7-S, Corsair PC3200, and a Gainward Golden Sample GF4 Ti4600, an Antec TruPower PSU, Fan Rheobus with quiet fans all around. Cost me just over $1100....and my case has a window, performs better, is probably quieter, probably cooler, a better overclocker, and manufacturer warranties on everything. Got a 3DMark of ~13,900 out of the box. :) Alienware != worth it. Very cool case though. I bet we see clones inside 6 months... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~| Archives: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?forumid=5 Subscription: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/index.cfm?method=subscribe&forumid=5 Signup for the Fusion Authority news alert and keep up with the latest news in ColdFusion and related topics. http://www.fusionauthority.com/signup.cfm Unsubscribe: http://www.houseoffusion.com/cf_lists/unsubscribe.cfm?user=89.70.5
