>The laws of Israel do not have a death penalty in their legal system. Even
>terrorist leaders who are captured are not put to death. I guess that's why they

No need to be sarcastic. That is actually one aspect of this mess that I agree with.
If the Israeli army can stop a bomber or other attackers before innocents are killed,
more power to them. My problem is when the American made and supplied Apache Gunships
hover over Gaza City and pour rocket fire into some of the most crowded living areas
in the world to kill one guy. You may get that guy, but what about the 20 innocents
that go with him? And it is not like they have a lot of options as to other places to
live...

And quite the same argument could be made from the other side of the conflict. Your
concerns are fair and well founded Michael. I have seen a few interviews with King
Abdullah of Jordan and I am impressed with his candor on the subject. However, he is
in much the same boat as Sharon. He cannot really do anything substantial for
political reasons without a sure sign that Israel is going to do something as well.
Can you, Michael, tell me what Israel has done in the last 18 months to advance a
peace? "Dismantling illegal outposts" carries about as much weight, IMO, as Yasser
Arafat "condemning" suicide attacks. Can you, Michael, tell me what Israel has done in
the last 18 months to advance a peace?

It is almost a catch-22, who will blink first, and it is sad.

Hadn't had a chance to check them out, but I will now...
