I've got an HP 950 (as do my parents) and love it.  Built-in fax with
distinctive ring option, great printing, memory card readers, etc.  The new
models are un-freakin-believable however: the best one (at $400) has
built-in 802.11b and Bluetooth (for fully wireless operation), a 2 inch
back-lit color screen (so you can do pretty anything from the printer with
no computer - even review and print digicam images) and improvements at all
levels to my unit (better scanning, faster printing, water-resistant ink,
etc).

I had an Epson previously but since I don't print often I would spend more
time cleaning the damn thing that using it (Epson's ink formula tends to
clog when left alone).  The HP prints immediately and perfectly after
sitting quiet for months and is the quietest printer I've ever owned to boot
- I honestly can't hear it printing most of the time.

My only real complaint about my model is that the display isn't backlit so I
can't see it. which is why drooling over the new ones.  ;^)

We have the Lexmark PrinTrio X75 multi-function.  It does not have an
external fax option but rather uses a software tool for that solution.  In
my experience it might not be the best option if you're going to be doing a
ton of printing and copying.  The ink cartridges in it are too small to
really support a large workload.

It is a nice little multifunction tool for the home, but it requires a PC to
be connected and running for the copy and faxing features to work.  Overall
I've been satisfied with it because it had a $99 price tag on it when I
bought it and aside from the short lifespan of the ink cartridges (we're on
our third black cartridge and second color one from having the printer since
about September of last year) it's a decent low-end solution.

For business use I would suggest looking at the laser multi-functions.
While more expensive the cost and lifespan of the consumables will
ultimately make them a better bang for your buck.

YMMV, but that's my two cents.

Regards!
