I'm a practicing Christian.  It is my belief that the blood of Christ had to
be shed as an ultimate sacrifice to wash away our sins.  His death was
nothing that could have been prevented.  That being said, someone *had* to
initiate it... and because the Sanhedrin and other "elders" found his
teachings threatening they did just what they were supposed to do.  In the
Sunday School class that I teach, that point is continuously made and will
continue to be made.

Do I think that Gibson's movie is going to point this fact out?  Not really.
It's an entertainment industry, and just like Braveheart he's going to tend
to push for the dramatic and take artistic license where he wants to in
order to rake in money in the box office.  Is he allowed to let his personal
opinions edge in on the movie?  Of course he is, it's his money and his
success or failure.

Historically, Braveheart was riddled with inconsistencies, including the
climactic ending (Wallace was an old man when he was finally captured and
there is no evidence that he screamed out "freedom" as he was being
disemboweled).  I'm sure that any sensible audience is going to see this
movie as entertainment.  Only those who are already inclined to a specific
leaning may try and use the movie as a rallying point, but I honestly don't
think that it's going to evoke an upwelling of anti-Semitism from
Christians.

Just my opinion on that one.
