Just let her know you're available for whatever she needs, and make the
time for it. My grandfather died suddenly while I was away at college.
He meant a great deal to me, and none of my family was around to help me
get through the initial shock. However, my girlfriend of maybe 3 months
(now my wife) came over and let me just talk about him. I must have
rambled on for hours, but I found that talking about him and my memories
of him helped me the most.
