Here's another possible solution though. If you are listening to mp3's pretty much just at home or at your desk, consider getting one of those FM Stereo transmitters that you can plug into your audio out on the computer. Then just use your radio earbud thingy that you mentioned to tune into that. Storage - you name it! Range - about 100 ft. Cost - I've seen them as low as $20.00. I can't really comment on quality as I've never really tried them.
