Part of the problem is that "experienced" can mean that they've used CF
before. People with a lot of experience with CF should put the amount of
experience. You're only supposed to put "experienced" unqualified if
qualifying it makes is sound less significant.
Besides which, even someone with 4 years of experience can be clueless.
Trust me on that one.
But in Joe's defense, he wrote a simple straightforward message with a link
to his website. And I think it's required by law to put "experienced" in
anything like that. (I know my mom would have a hissy fit if I didn't do at
least one thing like that. She teaches resumes and cover letters to
engineering majors.) What Joe said was completely reasonable. Flaming
someone on or off list, on the other hand, is unprofessional.
This should be the most professional ColdFusion forum. Joe could find a
really great job and the company that hires him could be looking for other
people. I guarantee that Joe would warn against hiring John but recommend
someone who gave him helpful feedback.
