To answer as many questions as possible.

1. We were attempting to use CF cluster management with jsessions and
session replication.
2. These are brand new servers sporting dual dual core Xeons with very
large amounts of memory.
3. Being new they are not actually in production yet. (They are
scheduled to enter production Tuesday.) So the load was one maybe two
test users at the time we were experiencing the problems with the
cluster hanging. However, when they do go into production they will be
replacing the current CFMX 7 Ent. server. It is a very high powered
server as well running a single instance of CF serving up 1.5 million
CFM page views per day. (We really don't have static content do to the
nature of housing data.)
4. The remote instance of CF is registered with the other CF server via
IP address.
We had two instances (one per machine) mlsfinder1 and mlsfinder2.
They were clustered via CFMX Admin.
5. The way we are setup we are serving our clients with a MLS search
service. We service most of the country. Each client gets their own
url to frame into their website. As such each client is setup as their
own CF Application. At any given time we can have 1500 - 2000 CF
Applications running on the current server. This is going to start
growing exponentially next week as we've signed a contract with a major
international brokerage to provide a search solution for most of their
agents. This will add somewhere around 50 or 60 thousand new clients
and their applications to the server(s). Which is why we need load
balancing, fail over, clustering and session replication to work.
6. In addition, I was informed by my sysadmin that when Apache is
stopped on one server, sessions do not replicate to the remaining server
(CF instance). Even if we stop the CF instance on that server first.
This is also a major problem.

Any clues?
