Because I've been burned, several times.

MS-Access can lock up with as few as 1 concurrent user.  It is not 
always easy to recover (get rid of the idb file).

Just not the sort of thing you want to do in the middle of a 
presentation.

Don't get me wrong -- MS-Acces has its place -- it is just not good for 
an online web application.
