We had at least one thread on *exactly* this at the beginning of
Christian Cantrell's tenure here. I'd like to see a sort of runtime swf
compiler in CF that would compile a cfflashform, or a cfflashgrid or
cfflashtree or cfwhatever and have flash replace the gamut of CF's
applets, which imho can't be used on the public side of a site.

Hey!

How about Flash Widgets!

You know..we have CFINput...how about FLASHINPUT!

A little tag that would put all the code in the page to do the Flash
stuff for a simple input box!
And..and..oh wait no. That would mean generating a little .swf file.

Welll...well have a CF_FLASHFORM! That would generate the .swf!
They could make it in ...in Dreamweaver MX! It doesn't have to be
CF-based at all..it could be EVERYTHING based!No..no screw everything CF
rules...but that would be selfish..so EVERYTHING Based(but it would be
easier with Flash remoting in CF...otherwise they have to have the Flash
remoting plugin..)!
Yes!!

Something useful and really cool at last in DWMX!CF Studio eat ya heart
out! ^_^ (<---Gel still uses CF Studio).

Insert Flash Form!
And it would cover ALL the current HTML controls...except they would all
be much better!
All the properties...like name...value...select options etc.And what
else?

The other most common thing is pulling fields for a Select Option from a
database table..that would be included too!And Combo Box!

The thing where you enter the first few letters and it finds the entry
in the list...that could be included too! What else do we like...what
else....Same Validation as CFINPUT! With a Message..and validate
text...little pop-up box before submit.

That would be way cool! Fully customisable Flash
form....borders..background...text and font..the works!
Probably impossible to link a stylesheet to it...but provide the
capability Why not???

Now THAT will drive Rich User Interface stuff doohickey
thingamabobs!YES!

*jumps*

So! Who's gonna make it!?Macromedia!
FigLeaf...anyone? Anyone?
Bueller....Anyone....?

While I've never been a big fan of HTML interfaces, to say the least,
radio buttons are individual elements - you can put them one right after
the other, or you can separate them with line breaks. So I don't really
see how the syntax for radio buttons could be that similar to the syntax
for select boxes.

I'd also hazard a guess that no one expected people to actually use HTML
forms, really. At least, not for this long. Yecch.
