The second driver is a JDBC-to-Jet driver and doesn't rely on anything else - Jet is the "native" protocol for MS Access. I believe it's open-source, and probably not supported all that well.
Ah, I see. The problem with the first is that the DSN wont be created id an ODBC datasource is not already defined in Windows. Kind of cumbersome.
