Hi Mimi

On 3rd December I bugged
<https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12459> and
<https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12460> (both are
referenced under 'Known issues' in my blog entry).

I guess that both issues are primarily interop, but as their secondary
effects can cause loss/confusion of data (at least: loss of
communication of data) I have suggested P3 critical. I'm prepared for
developers to disagree with the priority/severity :)

An item that's initiated within the calendar of Chandler Hub (or
Chandler Desktop) does appear in the calendar of iCal, and vice versa.

An item that's initiated _without the calendar_ of Chandler Hub (or
Chandler Desktop) does appear as a To Do Item in iCal, and vice versa.

The problems begin, and continue, when an item is moved to, or from, a
calendar in any of the following:

* Chandler Hub
* Chandler Desktop
* iCal 3.

Would you like a separate bug for each variation on that theme? There
could be a few.

(I suspect that resolution of either 12459 or 12460 will resolve a
variety of issues. I aim to avoid duplication of issues.)

It's interesting that Sync Services somehow exclude To Do Items from
iCal when working with iPhone.

I wonder whether Apple quietly acknowledge the diverse approaches to
To Do Items

* for example: in Chandler Hub and Desktop, an item is either
scheduled or not scheduled; in contrast, iCal can associate a due date
(a schedule) with a To Do Item without calendaring that item

-- and whether Apple are therefore deferring more comprehensive
synchronisation with iPhone until after the next CalConnect
Interoperability Test Event and Roundtable, February 2009
<http://www.calconnect.org/calconnect14.shtml
 >.

Is this class of issue (12459, 12460) the type of thing that you might
expect to be resolved, or at least tabled/discussed at such events?

Regards
Graham
