Misunderstanding aside: the combination of quick entry field + menus is bugged. Here using Chandler 1.0.3 RC1 on Mac OS X 10.5.6: whilst I can't reproduce the loss (of item) described by Mark, I do notice that whilst typing in the quick entry field: 1. the Item menu flashes inappropriately whenever I key backspace 2. when text is selected: Edit menu options to Cut, Copy and Select All are inappropriately disabled 3. when text is on pasteboard: Edit menu option to Paste is inappropriate disabled 4. ignoring the Edit menu: accelerators (shortcuts) for Cut, Copy, Paste and Select all are properly effective (not disabled). Mark: the likelihood is that you will find your missing item(s) either (a) in Trash of Chandler, or (b) in their original situation; sometimes Chandler shows an item in Trash when it has _not_ been moved to Trash. Side note: when using the quick entry field to find items, beware of deleting/removing found items; <https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12499> and <https://bugzilla.osafoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12497> demonstrate bugged behaviour in this situation.
