I bought a very cheap laptop recently and with it I got Vista even if I did
not want any M$ product.
Anyway then I decided to keep Vista to try it out.
Yesterday I was going to install a favorite game Sherlock I have used off
and on over the years.
It is very good for kids to learn about einsteins puzzle.
It is a Dos program and I have installed it in various flavors of Windows.
Not now in Vista.
It seems that Vista has abandoned Dos.
The recommendation I got was to install M$ Virtual Machine and start Dos
there.
I retrieved M$ Virtual Machine only to discover it is not supported in the
Vista Home Edition.
I then looked for a new copy of Sherlock but for free was only a copy that
needed to be paid for.
Then I discovered a free program called
http://demonews.com/downloadget.php?id=1220&file=9&evp=724e590e7277748b7c21aa3bd609f6f2
It is actually quite good.
It is interesting that Vista does not support Dos anymore.
I guess a lot of programs will have problem running under Vista.
The majority of all Windows programs are really Dos programs.
I guess this fact will move a lot of people over to Linux.
