I checked that out today. There is a wiring harness on the driver's
side, so it has a lockup convertor. I have heard tales of GM lockup
convertors occasionally not unlocking at stops, etc - is this just an
urban legend, or is it true?

Can I run a non-lockup convertor in place of the lockup one?

By adjusting bolt, do you mean one like on my powerglide? For
adjusting the bands? I'll check that tomorrow.
