Edelbrock
This has been quite a thread......
I've had the same
Holley 750 for nearly 10 years now. I rarely mess with it. I use
a vaccuum gauge to set the mixture screws, and forget it. I now have it on
a drag car, so I've added the jet extensions, vent baffles, and quick-change
bowls. Even with the quick change bowls, I rarely change them.
The weather has to change pretty significantly before I
bother.
One of these days I might try the Edelbrock, but you know
the saying, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Remember when everyone called the Quadra-Jet Quadra-Junk? They can't be too bad. There are millions of them out there and I bet there are still a lot being used. Same for the Holly I think. I've had several Hollys and have not had any real serious problems with them. If you set them up out of the box using a vacume gage it makes life easier. I don't think there is a carb out there that you can just bolt on and be happy with it's performance. They all need tweaking. Then again, this is just my opinion but there must be a lot more that think like me. Holly is still in business and going strong. I feel if you have to continuealy tune a Holly or any carb for that matter you didn't do something right the first time.
