Krister, 66 MYSTERY CHEVELLE at Team Chevelle might be able to answer that, he's quite a 66 expert. Try the Heating & Cooling forum. I would think that since many assembly plants built the Chevelle, GTO, Buick, and/or Olds, it wouldn't be uncommon for radiators to get changed due to not paying attention or the ~correct~ ones not being readily available. Chevelles were assembled at eleven different locations and I'd bet there are a few original variations around.
Dale McIntosh Subject: [Chevelle-List] '66 Radiator question Question - An original Harrison radiator that for a 396 Chevelle did it have the filler in the center or on the left hand side (drivers side)? My filler is on the left hand side and in the center WAS the finger tip guard that I've been looking all over for. I called a radiator shop today regarding getting my Harrison re-cored and he said what I have is from a Pontiac GTO and Chevelle's only had the filler in the center. I have seen some meticulous '66 Chevelle restorations and their Harrisons are left hand filler. Can anyone confirm?
