Which tailpipes did you install? Based on the diagram from their web site, it looks like one set goes straight back and the other goes to the rear corners. The "bent" ones look too long to possibly exit behind the tires, but maybe that's just an inaccuracy in the diagram.

Yes, you are correct.  I bought the 17107 and the 50 series flowmaster mufflers for my 66 Malibu.  It has both the straight tail pipes and the ones that exit behind the rear tires.  The 50 series Flo's I got were 52553's however, not 52558's.  Could be a typo on their website or in the catalog I guess.  I'd have to dig out the receipt, but I believe the 17107 kit was around $200 and each 50 series muffler was $70 or so.
