Dale. In the Chevrolet/Chevelle chassis Service manual
section 02, page 2, fig 2, is a Chevelle frame dimension drawing.
It use the funtion of a datum plane for vertial dimensions and body mount and locating pin holes for horizontal demensions.
From the center line of the radiator mounting hole to a locating hole  on the side of the frame at about the upper A arm gussets is 32.12 in ALL
And all other dimension are the same, ALL models EXCEPT
STATION WAGON & PICK-UP ( El -Camino).  This one and only variation deals with the dimension length to the rear body mount.
The wheel base/lower control arm bolt location ect are the same.
A body sedan,coupe & convertible 145.35 + 32.12 = 177.47 in.
A body station wagon & el-camino 148.62 + 32.12 = 180.74 in.
Thus the station wagone & el-camino have and extra frame length
from the last rear side body mount to the end back body mount of
3.27in or 3 9/32 of an inch.

Subject: RE: [Chevelle-List] Frame question

According to the GM Parts & Accessories book, there are a total of 4 frames for 64-67 Chevelles with these notes:

3878327 – 64-66 Chevelle (exc Sta Wag., El Camino)  (Note 1,2)

3876907 – 64-66 El Camino, Sta. Wag.  (Note 1)

3893333 – 67 Chevelle (Conv.)  (Note 1)

3893335 – 67 Sta. Wag, El Camino  (Note 1)

Note 1: When using these frames on Spt. Cpe., Sta. Wag., and 1964-1966 Sedans transmission support 3931446 must be used.

Note 2: When using on 4 Door Sport Sedan models it will be necessary to rework the inner portion of the Side Members to provide clearance with the longitudinal Reinforcement, welded to the underbody.

I don’t see it mentioned anywhere that 4” must be removed from any frame to fit Spt. Cpe. or Convertibles.

In 1967, ALL Chevelles, be they Malibu, 300, Wagon or Elky – all have a 115” wheelbase and exactly the same tread widths (front and rear), same overall width, and same front and rear fender overall width.  Where are the 4” cut from?

If someone has first-hand knowledge or know of a reputable website that shows Elky or station wagon frames from 64-67 have to be shortened to fit the Sport Coupe/Convertible, please direct me to it.  I’m not doubting anyone’s word as I’ve never had to swap frames but I’d like to see it in print for reference.
