Well the first thing I would do is get in touch
with the Attorney Generals office in your state and ask about recourse. If he
intentionally misrepresented the car it's fraud. You will probably have to go to
small claims court and sue. You don't need a lawyer for this just proof
the car was a "pig in a poke" (But you can have a lawyer if you choose)If your
friend likes the car he may be able to work out something with the seller if the
seller knows he is about to be sued. He may also be able to get all his money
back if that's what he wants. Lots of people don't like to be bothered with
legal action and he may be willing to talk. In any case, call the Attorney
Generals office 1st and have your friend ask what he can do. That way he has
some ammo when he talks to the guy. If the guy doesn't want to talk, then sue
his ass. It will look better in court for your friend if he tried to make a
settlement before going to court.
