I think the five speed is a simpler swap, and cheaper as well. Check out Keisler (http://www.keislerauto.com/gm/chevelle.html) for a great solution that has all the parts and makes sure everything will work and fit. Without looking at Specs, the five speed is (I think) lighter and smaller as well.
