Considering I have a Richmond 6 speed in my 66 Elky, I guess I should respond.  It fits without major work.  The only mods I had to make were to clearance the driver side of the tunnel a bit for the linkage and to make the mounts on the frame longer towards the back of the car because when you move the cross member back where it needs to be w/ the Richmond, the two rear holes end up off the original frame mount tab.

As for Richmond's customer service, they are second to none.  As most of you know I've had some problems with mine and so far Richmond has been the best.  I've had my tranny for over two years now and I just recently had mine rebuilt for FREE by Richmond.  The only expense to me was the cost of shipping it to them.  I think the original warranty is only 90 days.  IMO if a manufacturer of parts, let alone aftermarket performance parts, is willing to stand behind their product like Richmond has, they've earned my business and loyalty for life.

Yes the Richmond costs more, but I'm glad to pay more for the kind of support they've provided me.

If anyone wants pictures of the modified bracket let me know.

Subject: [Chevelle-list] Choose (richmound 6 speed or tremec 5 speed)

Help me decide,
If you had the choice of either the Richmond 6 speed or the Tremec 5 speed to put in your chevelle what would you go with?
Thanks for any input!
