Don't give him baby food.... The only reason why the vet wants him on
Science-Diet for now is to get his protein level down. It is the only
company that makes a very low protein food. Protein is the enemy of liver
disease.

PLEASE read the link that I gave in my previous post to you and you will
understand liver shunt better.

You may also want a second opinion. When you get the bile test done, or any
test for that matter, ask for a print out of it.....that way you can show it
to another Vet without having to do the test again, plus you will have a
record of it for the future, which you will need.

The bile test is very important because that will tell the Vet if the shunts
are inside or outside the liver, both are operative, but it is better on the
outside then inside the liver.

I don't know...the vet said he trusted science diet for liver issues...it is
a prescription diet...I wasn't sure about it either, but he says it will
allow his liver to not have to work so hard? Well see, he isn't eating
anything right now...I was going to pick up some baby food when I go to get
his meds.

Thanks for all the prayers

They want him on science diet
==================

Why? I don't understand this. This is by all counts a crappy food to feed
your animals so what is the reasoning behind this one? Just curious. I am
sorry for the seizures
