Don't give him baby food.... The only reason why the vet wants him on Science-Diet for now is to get his protein level down. It is the only company that makes a very low protein food. Protein is the enemy of liver disease.
PLEASE read the link that I gave in my previous post to you and you will understand liver shunt better. You may also want a second opinion. When you get the bile test done, or any test for that matter, ask for a print out of it.....that way you can show it to another Vet without having to do the test again, plus you will have a record of it for the future, which you will need.
