Hi Peggy,
I really don't know what condition she was in when picked up on the 2-19-11, the paper work said they tried to evaluate/vac her on the 2-25-11, but was too fearful and tried to bite.
I was really there just to help pull the Pap. I latterly had to leave when I first got there it upset me so.  I went back after I got a hold of myself. This was my 1st time doing this. I got the cage # & I D # of her, and the Pap, came back to work from doing this on my lunch. Contacted, the lady that contacted me. She called and set up the pick up. I left a few minutes early to get over there to do the pick up. I drove the Pap straight to the lady in Lake Elsinore area. I didn't get back home till after 8.
 
I am really hoping my ex will like her. She needs to be with someone with maybe one other dog. She needs allot of attention. I am going to get her all recovered/rehabilitated first.
He has my old 15 year Jack Russell, she just sleeps most of the time. He just loved my chi's when we were married. This little girl isn't afraid of my boyfriend, and my ex is much softer spoken and laid back.  He went through cancer in 01, so he is often home. I do think she will bond with him. Also he is very close with his parents, and goes to there home on the weekends, and he takes Peanut, (the Jack) with him. His mom has 2 chihuahuas, one I got for her when I was married. I am sure his mom will love and pamper her when he takes her.
But if it doesn't work out, I will find her a good home, I don't have any doubts. She seems to be crate trained. Last 2 nights she has slept quiet. My dogs sleep with me. I didn't want to have her start sleeping with me in case the adopter doesn't want to sleep with her. Plus I am trying not to get attached, as I am at my limit financially. I don't think she is house broke, she had an accident this morning, but it was on the floor and not my carpet, so easy clean up. I think she will get the hang of it, being around my 3.
I am just excited I got her out, and she has a second chance.

Hi Beth,
 
When you take her tomorrow to the Vet they will probably want to do a blood, stool and urine test. A lot of times when a dog looses that much weight that fast, their main organs, especially the kidneys start to show signs of shutting down. I have seen worse, if you can believe that, and the dogs can and do make a full recovery. It is best if you do get all the test done now, that way any one who adopts her will know where she stands for the future.
 
Did the shelter say where she came from? I can't believe that some one there didn't call a rescue 2 weeks ago, if she came in under weight to begin with. Or the least they could have done was make sure that she was eating.
 
When I rescued Princess she was 5 pounds underweight because she had 3 types of worms. Had she stayed at the shelter for another week she would have looked as bad as your little Angel.
 
She sounds like a good little sweet chi. I bet she is sleeping well because it is the first time in weeks that she feels secure and safe enough not to be on guard with a bunch of bigger dogs around.

She is already bonding with me.. I think she will bond with someone in a few days.
My ex husband may want her.  I have told him about her and he wants to see her.
I am going to foster her till she is doing good with her recovery. She is eating well and her Diarrhea is starting to become more solid. She slept through the night again in her little soft crate.

It is so wonderful that you have her.   That poor little thing.   I'm thinking that you may not be able to adopt her out as she is going to bond to you who saved her from that horrid place.   She does look wonderfully sweet....   how is she doing?

A person who knows I am crazy for Chihuahuas, sent me this.  This baby is in a shelter about 40 minutes from me.  It says she's a mix and I don't know her age and she's not spayed but oh, it breaks my heart to see the photo of her living conditions.  I may have to go check her out, get her and then try to find a good home for her.
