Hi Joan!

Oh Henderson is out then, we sure don't want to be near another airport.
For years we suffered extremely early morning wake-up calls due to the
Burlington cargo planes that went out of our local airport, but for some
reason, now it is rare we hear them, have we just tuned them out, doubt it,
they
are huge planes, but think they got re-routed for take off for all the
complaining. Ohh, I love and frequent all the stores you mentioned in that
one
strip mall and close area to your proximity. Too bad you lost your view.
That's what I hear some people do not like about Phoenix, unlike Tucson
which kept its natural habitat as natural as possible, Phoenix residents
changed the desert into what they wanted it to be bringing in al their plants
and trees from other states, and that includes too much watering to keep
everything not natural to the Phoenix area green, growing, and beautiful. I
am
just basing that info on heresay, I don't really know if that is true.

Aren't the Sana Ana winds what fuels a lot of the wild fires in CA? We
hear of them all the time on our news it seems when those devastating fires
in CA start up. I feel so bad for the people who lose their homes. and/or
have to be evacuated and don't know if their homes will be there when they
return.

I love how beautiful the mountains surrounding you sound. That's what we
are looking for, beautiful sunrises, sunsets and mountains out our window if
possible. Gee, you're making Las Vegas sound better and better, do you
know the population there? Hubby will probably be fine if he has to suffer a
little from a few allergens, lol, just kidding of course.

I hope so much your surgery goes just perfect and the kids do just great.
Your vet sounds unique and special. Have you ever left them before
overnight? If I lived in Las Vegas, I would gladly have them stay with me.
What
fun we would have. And what a reunion you three will have when you return
home; happy,happy, happy.

Hi Lynn,
Henderson is a city that is at the south end of Las Vegas. It is actually
pretty close to the airport.
I live in North Las Vegas which actually starts a little east of Las Vegas
at the south side. Where I live is quite a bit Northwest (maybe 20 miles
from the strip). I have a grocery store and little strip mall about 1/3 of
a mile to the south of me; we have a Target that just got built a couple
years ago that is just kitty-corner from out communities walls; I have a
Costco, Best Buy, Walgreens, Walmart, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bath & Body Works and
other strip mall type of store about ½ mile from my house. Our elevation
is a little higher and the temps are a little cooler – but only about 5
degrees or so. The community that I live in is right on the west edge of Las
Vegas (it is a very huge city as far as residents), and I actually live
about six houses east of the street (Decatur) that separates Las Vegas and
North Las Vegas. I used to have a beautiful view of the Strip from my living
room, but they had to finish building the houses in my community and the
one across the street…no more Strip view, just roof views. But Las Vegas
then extends quite a bit north and west more than I am. There was a huge
migration of people in the last ten years which has turned desert and rocks to
 neighborhoods.
