In Chromium you can install Extensions in http://www.chromeextensions.org/ There is an extension that blocks flash http://www.chromeextensions.org/appearance-functioning/flashblock/. Also you can install Ad-Block http://www.chromeextensions.org/appearance-functioning/adblock/, that blocks pop-ups and paraphernalia.
