Overall I really enjoyed the movie. Two questions. When he gave a speech to his cabinet earlier in the movie the cabinet applauded him. Did this really happen? English people tend not to applaud as readily as our American cousins do. Also, near the end while he was at the theatre the audience applauded and stood up. Did this really happen? Again English people do not give "standing" applause as readily as our American cousins. As an Englishman living in the USA I am more curious about this than nit-picking. One thing that upset me was the fact that they cut out or paraphrased his speeches. In all, would a few extra minutes kill them? Furthermore, the fast forwarding to after the war was awkward and confusing.
