I could not disagree more. The Churchill Arms pub is fairly close to my home. It is a splendid place -- in terms of atmosphere and decoration, a wonderful example of a traditional London pub. IIRC, it has won awards both for its window-box laden exterior as well as for its general function as a pub. The interior is crammed with bric-a-brac which adds immeasurably to the venue's charm. There is much Churchill-related material -- the material is not necessarily unique or valuable but that is not the point. The pub has clearly been decorated as tribute to Sir Winston (it is not a "tourist trap") and it puts a smile on my face whenever I venture in. London's traditional pubs are in steep decline and finding a decent watering hole is becoming harder and harder. The Churchill Arms should be congratulated. I wouldn't necessarily recommend it to a Churchill fan as worthy of a detour from central London, but it is certainly worth a visit if one is in Kensington/Notting Hill.
