Are you sure you are running on Nvidia's driver, and not MESA's?
I have this (SUSE 10.1):
$ ldd /usr/local/bin/cinelerra | grep GL.so
libGL.so.1 => /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1 (0xb6e61000)
$ rpm -qf /usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1
x11-video-nvidia-1.0.8762-1
