You had 80 BGP neighbors?

The 3640 can handle various amount of traffic depending on the
interface. For a HSSI interface, the 3640 is rated to do 45MB both
ways. You can put up to 3 in the 3640, but you will still only see
average 45MB each ways.

With the ATM interface, you can get 20-80Mbps depending on packet
types. Alot of this has to do with your config as well, policy routing,
etc.

3640's can only go up to 128MB.

I agree if you are pushing high amounts of traffic 3640 may not be the way
to go. It can do a considerable amount, it just depends on what
interfaces you are using and whatnot. ATM/HSSI are both available for it
and work reasonably well, but not under heavy loads.
