Hi, stuart,

I think the best advice is to go and get a CCNA, book. Falling that you'll need 
another router to be the DCE (which will act as your clocking device).

However if each router is connected to a Hub then I would assume the the default 
gateway on your node PC has not been configured to reach the e0 interface of either 
router

Your routers themselve will not be able to communicate with each other without a DCE 
Device
