about OSPF,

hi guys:
   i have 2 question: 
     (1)is the split horizon  avaiable in OSPF ,
     (2)in ospf over NBMA mode,there is Broadcast mode, i am confused,cos, NBMA is 
non-broadcast access ,why still have Broadcast ability
