NetDay is (or should be) coming up in the Bay Area.  Do a search on it and
see...lots of us volunteer at those events, so it could also be an
opportunity for you to make some good contacts in the networking industry.

If Cisco wasn't laying off, I'd tell you to apply for a Tier 0/1 position in
their TAC...maybe 3Com or Nortel is hiring in their NOCs?  Also, if you
check with some of the smaller ISPs they might talk to you about some
part-time work...but you'll have to do the research to find them, because I
don't know who they are up there anymore.

Check with Netcom too... I seem to remember they had an operation center in
Sunnyvale, or maybe it was in the Peninsula...
