bit hefty.

I've also always wondered whether the staged upgrade was to overcome changes
in configuration along the way, or whether there were other reasons, but the
suggested method, also from somewhere within the link above, is:
2.4(3) or earlier to 4.x
Supervisor Engines I and II
Follow these steps to upgrade to 4.x:
1. Upgrade to software release 2.4(5)
2. Upgrade to release 3.2(4)
3. Upgrade to release 4.x.
