Richard, Good information. Here is part of the output of this command when I give this command on one of our 5500 RSMs. FYI: We have 2 5500s with RSMs, however, with the exception of one VLAN, RSM#1 is the HSRP primary for all other VLANs. Heres the output:
Vlan Type DMA Channel Method 1 ethernet 1 auto 2 ethernet 0 auto 8 ethernet 1 auto 142 ethernet 0 auto 200 ethernet 1 auto 201 ethernet 0 auto 202 ethernet 1 auto 203 ethernet 0 auto 204 ethernet 1 auto 205 ethernet 0 auto 206 ethernet 1 auto 1000 ethernet 0 auto Is the DMA channel above the two I/O "ports" your spoke of? Just curious because you also mentioned that "By default all odd VLANs are assigned to the first port and all even VLANs to the second". AFAIK, we haven't changed the default behaviour on the RSM, and it seems to have split up the VLANs evenly across the two DMA Channels. What's your take on that? Mike W.
