This switch has one uplink port connected to a 6513, the remaining ports are host ports. It was the root bridge of the tree initially because I didn't configure the STP priority. I've since rectified that and made the 6513 the STP root bridge; however, now both the 2980 and 6513 report themselves as root bridge.
I'm thinking that the 2980 is hopelessly confused and requires a reboot. John >>> "Robert D. Cluett" 7/29/02 9:54:15 AM >>> Is this device the root bridge of the spanning tree? Do you have other devices that you can compare this to? Robert D. We don't have a service contract on this box and this doesn't appear to be a serious issue. I'll probably end up rebooting the switch but I'd rather not since it has a few users now. That might be the only temporary fix, though. Nothing else has worked so far. Thanks, John >>> "Robert D. Cluett" 7/29/02 9:12:19 AM >>> Have you opened a TAC case with Cisco?
