That may be true in theory, but then why would it only show VLAN1 ports
in the output of "show spantree"?  If that were the case I'd expect to
see all ports on the switch to show up; however, only ports in the
second module show up.  Oh well, I've stopped worrying about it.  I
really wish the LAN people would just resolve the issue with the Dell
NICs.  I really don't care to disable STP across our network.

Sounds like it is a normal condition after all. Hence, when STP is
