I'm getting pretty rusty on my OSPF, but don't all three of those things happen? Redistribution causes router b to become an ASBR and thus it generates type 5 (external) LSAs. But don't the ABRs have to generate type 4 (summary asbr) LSAs into their respective areas before those type 5s are of any use? I don't think it's one or the other (ASBR external or ABR summary).
