The problem I had with copy/pasting characters and getting rubbish seems to have something to do with the computer I used. The output of LaTeX is here: http://www.loria.fr/~roegel/tmp/prob-uwmjc7.txt I installed texlive-full in January on the latest Ubuntu. Perhaps it is not TeXlive 2007?
