There is a discount program for those who are on lower versions. We were one
of the first schools to take advantage of it.

We talked to Jeff Peterson [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> who
alerted us to the discount. Even after that they still ended up quoting around
$20,000 for two 3350s.

We are in the Perfigo situation. We have the Perfigo appliances but, as was
stated, we have to upgrade. The quotes we've been given have been insane. Well
over what we paid for the original installation. As we are not happy with the
original product we have been in conversations with some of the developers and
higher ups and, so far, have not resolved much of anything. We are still
considering using the new product but not at what they've been quoting.

As for the 75% markdown, I would seriously look at that. We were *not* offered
that. And the wiggle room that has been advertised has not been apparent
either. Please make sure you hold your guns.

We were also an original customer. When we were told we had to upgrade, Cisco
originally said it would cost triple
what we originally paid. When we threaten to drop them and go with another
vendor, we got the price down to
a very reasonable price. Talk to your rep. There is a lot of wiggle room.
