You defeatist, you :) I'm just trying to represent the enthusiastic perspective where "if it *could* be better, it *must* be better". In many respects Clojure already embodies exactly that attitude, that's why we all love it. Maybe some people here feel defensive about the criticism of Clojure's performance from those who have nowhere near the complete picture; that can't be helped, I guess, it's the inescapable nature of such public communication. Still, the complacent tone that often comes out rubs me the wrong way.
