I know this isn't a package per se, but I really like distributions with "ports" BSD-like or "portage" <sp?> like Gentoo. There's just something so cool about "make install clean" and being ready to rock.
In somewhat the same vein, clean simple /etc/rc.d directories are cool too. Some distros seem to scatter that info all over...
