After all the commentary about this list not being a help forum, HELP! :)

I installed Suse on a friend's machine after deciding I like it better than
Mandrake as a windows transition. But now Im left hugging my portage tree
again after RPM hell prevented me from getting mplayer installed, and now
Totem won't play wmv files. It says there is no codec to play it.

I've been googling for over an hour to no avail. I did find a site which said
to download the codec pack from mplayerhq and put them
in /usr/local/lib/win32. I tried /usr/local/lib/codec as well. Nothing.

Does anyone know where to put them? I installed the win32 codec RPM, nothing.

Any input is appreciated. I like suse, but this is putting me off, and Ive got
patience, Im a Gentooite.

Nick
