Have you ever actually tried that? Any significant pressure leak and you won’t be able to get anyplace near the stove.

They go strictly by the numbers, and those stoves have a very bad track record for claims. It is one of the "hot" items they look for in the insurance survey. The other issue with alcohol is that the flames it makes are virtually invisible, which can also lead to unintended consequences.
